Its sad to see GROWN ADULTS act like little kids over things. We have a local group down here in Ky that is tryin to shut down another local group for no other reason just to do it. There is 3 major mud racing groups here in central ky that are within 1hr and half from each other. So I understand that there will be some date conflicts but this is just out right tryin to be assholes about things. Two groups release a schedule early in the year and TRY to advoid date conflicts but the third group doesnt attempt to post a schedule an makes up dates as the year goes along. I hope there little plan back fires on them.

I've seen it happen also!! It's a shame we can't always work together. What I do as a racer I will go out of my way to go to the tracks who have done their homework and got their schedules out early. Once last year we drove right by a track that was only an hour a way to support a track that was 4 hours away that paid 1/2 as much. Difference was that close track put out it's schedule late and either didn't care or wanted to double up with the other track in a hateful way. Either way I'm not supporting them if there is somewhere else to go.
We'll be doing the same this year!!
Hope it all works out down there!!

If you are fast, you can bet you're bottom $ that they will be on you too! Hopefully Jimbo will have it all under control. What happened to the days of good sportsmanship. I love to race and I go to win, but if I lose a race and make a great friend it was worth it all in the end. I met some great people at Indy last year. After the race, one of my competitors and his wife fead me and my family and we had a great, great time. Since then we have became really good friends. That is what this sport should be all about. This person I'm talking about, his name is JEFF and he drives a really fast FORD truck called the( BOMB ). If there were more racers out there like him, this would be alot better sport!!!

Well we hope to be fast with the street stock truck. We made some changes this year to hopefully be the top dog. If the rumors are true....we werent to far off from some bigger CID motors (which wouldnt of pumped this year). Then with the Pro Street truck (which that class is tough as hell anyway) just hope to be competitive until we get it lined out. But your right Mike about there not being any sportsmanship anymore. Hopefully LCMRA can draw in more trucks from out of state (so us KY boys can show them how to race...haha) Ive seen videos of Jeff truck, its mean. Hopefully i can see it run sometime this year.

Guys the problem with traveling is you go along ways to go racing only to get ther and find out that the guy thats tech you in races the class that you are trying to get in and he wants to bump you out of hes class. what happened to just go raceing and if you lose you go home and work on your truck. Me and my son love to go to different places racing meeting new people but its starting to be a pain in the a$$ because of a few club members that think because there club members they should be handed first place. I race to win but if we lose you won't here me whining I will go home and try to make it faster.

I agree. I find it a lot more fun to make friends, than enemies. I will help anyone out whether they run my class or not. Hell I diagnosed one of my strongest competitor's problem last year so he would be happier with his truck, and be more competitive. If you want to know whats under my hood. Search the net there is plenty of pictures. Even a step by step with all of the details on every piece from the ground up. I hide nothing.
There are still a lot of great guys out there. Jeff is great and glad I have met him. He is always offering me advice on what to do. Always offers me a great sandwich and a cold beer.
This happens in more places than KY. So don't feel like you are the only ones. And believe me when I tell you the local boys get pissed when our group shows up and puts on a whoopin.
I always tell the tech guy that I really don't care what class you put me in. I am not trying to get away with anything, I came to race and that is what I plan to do. If I am the underdog so be it.
Good luck, go beat them at their own game. Find some more friends that you fit into more of the classes and go after them. After all, that is what is all about.
Later jenks

Pretty cool that we are all on the same sheet of music here. Having said that I may slightly differ but it still comes around full circle. Here is my personal philosophy, may not be correct by any means:
Priority list:(Comes from wrenching on the truck for weeks before the race) 1) Win Races 2) have a good time. 3) make all the friends you can
NOW IF THINGS GO A-STRAY THE PRIORITIES CHANGE A LOT 1) Make no enemies 2) Have no injuries. 3)Don't end up in jail
Now the practical version: Get out of that race with your a$$ in tact. Be it wrecks, trailering incidents, local vigil anti's or all the above.
Most of all of this has come into play at one time or another but honestly. I'd like to see what you run, I'd like you to see what I run and let the chips fall where they may. After the race we should be able to shake hands and say "good race". If we can't, it's not because I didn't want to!!!
That's all I have to say....I could be wrong!!!

Guys heres why i do it 1 me and my son get to spend alot of time together working on and racing the truck 2 for the friends i meet at the races and getting parts for are truck. I think it is getting back to the way it used to be where it was just for fun and bragging rights . I think places like this board are helping where guys can talk and help each other out. I'd rather races guys i know then go places i done know anybody. Because when the days done i like to shake your hand and tell you nice racing with you win or lose had to shake Jeffs hand alot on the losing in lol.
