Jed, Well I haven't worked that out just yet.... Years ago I wrecked a Toyota engine hydrolocking it. Bent a rod and cracked a block. After that in desperation I cut a hole in the hood and vented it that way extending the air cleaner out of the hood. After that even getting the sir cleaner muddy was no longer happening. This truck is faster and the faster you go the less mud you get on the sides and top of the truck. This truck gets some mud clods stuck to the windows usually they are so big that the wipers have a hard time with them. But I have never had that wave of water come up on the hood. So I feel pretty good about keeping it dry in a race. The rain is a different story. Going down the road I think I'm just going to bag them and at home do the same. I'm looking for a trick way to put a removable cover on, I like the o-en look. It looks like it's growling!! LOL I'm going to get accused of having two carbs on it now!!! LOL See ya, Jeffro

Do you guys think it's enough mud and water compared to being down below to worry about? It gets a regular splashing and mud glob thrashing about every race. Here is last race's air cleaner. It was clean before the race!! Thanks guys

That looks like it was more of a water purifier than an air cleaner. If they get muddy sticking out of the hood you could put a cowl on the hood. It still has to be better than what you had before! That much mud in a air filter would scare me!

Chris, It should scare me but I'm kinda numb to it. It happens so much. It was always on my "to do" list but never got to it. I have a little more time these days so I'm catching up on the little things and next year we'll make a big fast motor!!
When are you going to be done with the new truck and what are you going to call it??
Jeffro

I don't know, you called my last truck Torquenstien and that kind of stuck. Maybe you can come up with something. My wife thinks since the truck is almost chocolate brown we should call it Chocolate Thunda but that sounds more like a name for a black porn star so I don't think that will work. ;D

Oh that's funny!!!"We could have fun with that one!!!" ;D
"Chocolate Thunder!"
Your going to let "Torquen-stein" die with the old truck?
The color brown is a hard one...There is only chocolate and turds that are really brown and neither one of those has an intimidation factor.
"Chitt'en & Gitt'in" ? That has a Brown ring to it? ;D
